Pinched Nerve

Severe pain can be experienced in the lower back and down one leg due to a pinched nerve in the back.

This pain may start suddenly or gradually and is often described as sharp and shooting, similar to an electric shock. Moving the affected leg, back, or other body part can intensify the pain. While the pain may be felt uniformly along the leg, certain areas may have more intense pain.

Along with this pain, numbness or a tingling sensation may be felt along the sciatic nerves, which are the longest nerve group in the body and run from the lower back down both legs.
